				Informationen
The Czech composer Viktor Kalabis has composed numerous instrumental works, including five symphonies, several solo concertos and chamber music. His composition techniques are close to neoclassicism. In addition to echoes of his idols Stravinsky, Bartók and Martinu, he shows a consistent, mainly bitonally organized individual style. The sonata for viola and piano, which traces the melodic possibilities of the string instrument, was composed in 1997 and is one of a total of three sonatas that Kalabis composed for piano and string instrument.
