The piece, What is Left of Us, was composed after the bombing of the World Trade Towers in New York City. It was recorded on the composer's album, «Open Crossings», (Naxos) by singer Naaz Hosseini, who is known for her work with Meredith Monk's ensemble. The piece is a setting of poetry of exile, written by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
